The
Artist - Pancha Tattva was born and raised a
Hare Krsna devotee and began her training of Bharata Natyam
at the age of seven under the direction of the famed Smt.
Sudha Chandrashekar in Detroit, MI.
It was under her tutelage that she learned her first adavus
(dance steps), and was instilled with the joy of dance.
Because of family moves, she ended her schooling with Sudha
at the age of eleven.
These years with Sudha Aunty formed a strong foundation
in Bharata
Natyam
that never left her. For this she is eternally grateful
to Smt. Sudha Chandrashekar.
She continued to be mesmerized and
strongly attracted to Bharata
Natyam throughout her teenage years. After on and off classes
from various teachers, she decided to seriously look for
a dedicated teacher to study for her arangetram. She resumed
her study in Kansas City under Smt. Hema Sharma, with whom
she studied vigorously for the past year. It was Hema who
instructed her in the items for her arangetram and strengthened
her desire to dance. A family obligation forced Pancha to
move here to Greensboro, where she was kindly assisted by
Smt. Veena Argade in final preparations for the arangetram.
After the arangetram Pancha will continue her training with
Veena.
Pancha has danced for various educational, community, and
temple functions around the United States. She currently
live in Greensboro and works at Govinda's, a vegetarian
restaurant. She hopes to always be able to perform and eventually
teach the beautiful art form of Bharata
Natyam.
